Family Ministries Director

SUMMARY

  • The Family Ministries Director (FMD) helps First Baptist Church, Clover (FBCCLOVER) carry out its mission by supporting parents in their God-given mission to disciple their children by providing resources and spiritual, pastoral, and administrative leadership to all aspects of their child's ministry focus (birth through grade 12).  He serves as the chief communicator, biblical teacher, and leader of the Student Ministries, as well as shepherding carefully and prayerfully the children, youth, parents, and volunteers involved in all aspects of Family Ministry. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The FMD is called by God to ministry.  An ideal candidate should have or be pursuing a ministerial degree.
  • We prefer the FMD to have 3 to 5 years of ministry experience in youth, children, or equivalent ministry.
  • The FMD should have a knowledge of Scripture and Biblical principles, with the ability to communicate these principles in a relatable way to children, youth, and parents.
  • The FMD must be available to lead and support scheduled children and youth ministry activities during regular church meetings and at other times as warranted.

ACCOUNTABILITY 

  • The FMD is accountable to the senior Pastoral staff, Children's Committee, Youth Committee, Personnel Committee, and Church body.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

  • The FMD should be able to lead in various settings inside and outside the church so that Jesus Christ and His Gospel are glorified. 
  • The FMD should be a self-starter and an initiative taker.
  • The FMD should have the heart to care for people of all ages and the skills to create, facilitate, and manage teams and teamwork to accomplish ministry. 
  • The FMD should be able to clearly and effectively communicate the Gospel.
  • The FMD should be an effective communicator of Christ-centered discipleship, rightly teach the Word, and joyfully encourage others to do the same. 
  • The FMD should have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and attend regular worship services.
  • The FMD should maintain flexible working hours as determined by the ministry's needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Leading all aspects of Family Ministry (birth – 12th grade).
  2. Teaching the Bible with excellence, clarity, and authenticity.
  3. Building intentional relationships to provide pastoral care for families with children and youth.
  4. Implementing an intentional discipleship plan for families.
  5. Conducting teacher recruitment, training, and scheduling volunteers for all areas of Family Ministries.
  6. Maintaining an up-to-date background database for all volunteers working with children/youth.
  7. Working with the assistance of various committees to create and manage Family Ministry budgets. 
  8. Choosing, ordering, and distributing curriculum for all aspects of Family Ministry in a timely manner. 
  9. Providing an organized, fun, safe, disciplined, and caring environment for Family Ministries of the church.
  10. Ensuring the Child Safety Policy and Check-In Procedures are taught to volunteers and followed.
  11. Overseeing Sunday and Wednesday regularly scheduled Family Ministries.
  12. Help plan special services where children/youth may participate.
  13. Planning special service projects and events for families with children to fulfill the vision of FBCCLOVER.
  14. Supervising and working with the Family Ministries Assistant to regularly communicate with parents, youth, and volunteers through various avenues.
  15. Reaching out evangelistically to youth in the community through local schools and other outreach ministries currently being done in our community.
  16. Preaching as assigned.
  17. Working with other church leadership and staff to coordinate the church calendar of events, trips, and outreach.

 

*All other duties as assigned by the Pastoral Staff.

Salary50,000.00 - 60,000.00 Annual
