Gloverville First Baptist Church is in search of a senior pastor to serve either in a full time or in a Bi-Vocational capacity. The qualifications and pastoral position are as follows:

A. Spiritual Qualifications:

 

A Pastor shall be a man who conforms to the spiritual qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4. If married, his wife must also conform to the spiritual qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:11. The pastor must believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant word of God, and as such, seeks to preach, minister, and abide by its principals and precepts. 

 

B. Secular Qualifications: 

 

The pastor shall have the ability, maturity, and education to meet the needs of the church body. The pastor's life-style, habits, and actions, as well as those of his wife, shall be such that it will not bring any disgrace, disparity, or harm the reputation and ministry of GFBC. The pastor and his believing household must unite with GFBC as members.

 

C. Duties:

The senior pastor is the under shepherd of the church and as such is to guide, feed, and protect the flock. The pastor is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. The pastor is to be an example to the flock and is to conduct himself at all times in a manner worthy of the position or the pastorate. The pastor shall maintain office hours at GFBC and visitation hours as agreed upon with the deacon body.

The Senior Pastor shall be responsible for delivering and proclaiming the word of God during the scheduled services and as other occasions arise. He shall be in charge of the pulpit and is responsible for filling the pulpit in his absence. He is responsible only unto God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit as to his messages.

The Senior Pastor shall administer the ordinances of baptism and communion, minister to the members of the church and community, and perform other duties that usually pertain to that office as long as they are biblically warranted
