Description

Dale City Baptist Church, a community of believers, is actively seeking a full time Senior Pastor to lead and enrich our fellowship. We are looking for a man who is a born-again believer, passionate about teaching God’s Word, deeply committed to proclaiming the Gospel, wholeheartedly supports and aligns with the beliefs and actions associated with “The Baptist Faith and Message 2000,” must have or is actively working toward a seminary degree, and exemplifies Christ's love in all interactions.

The Pastor Search Committee of Dale City Baptist Church believes that the primary responsibilities and duties of a pastor were identified by our Lord Jesus Christ in John 21:15-17, specifically to feed and lead the portion of Christ’s flock (or congregation) over which the Lord has given him “under-shepherd” responsibilities to care for, protect, and shepherd the sheep. The four Ministry Elements embody those two primary pastoral duties.

MINISTRY ELEMENT 1 – TEACHING AND PREACHING THE WORD OF GOD

  • The duties are to prepare and deliver sermons, Bible studies, devotions, and related teachings with the Holy Bible as the source for divine information and instruction. The Pastor will rely exclusively upon the authority of the Word of God as he has been taught and led by the Spirit of God.

MINISTRY ELEMENT 2 – FULFILLING THE ROLE OF PASTOR BY LEADING THE CONGREGATION

  • Responsible for performing the Biblical duties of a Pastor that includes leading the local church in fulfilling the ministry to which it has been called by God, guarding, and protecting the church from false doctrine and false teachers, and directing the church in fulfilling the Great Commission.

MINISTRY ELEMENT 3 – SUPPORT AND STRENGTHEN THE CHURCH’S WORSHIP, SERVICE, & FELLOWSHIP

  • The duties are to actively support and strengthen the church’s worship, service and fellowship through leading corporate worship services, guiding individual believers in understanding and utilizing their spiritual gifts, and participating in fellowship events and activities.

MINISTRY ELEMENT 4 – ADMINISTRATION, DIRECTION, AND OVERSIGHT

  • The duties are to work with church leadership (e.g., Elders, Deacons) to enhance and/or develop essential ministry documents and materials, including: 1) a future vision and direction for the church, 2) a Church Visitor Welcome Packet, 3) New Member Orientation Class, and 4) a Church Member Discipleship Program.

Should you discern the leading of the Holy Spirit to pursue this Pastoral opening, we would welcome the opportunity to hear from you. Please submit your resume and any supporting materials to dcbpsc2024@gmail.com.
