The Director of Women’s Ministry oversees the Women’s Ministry within the Groups and Discipleship Team. This person provides focused vision, strategy, and leadership for all women’s initiatives; creates and establishes pathways for women’s spiritual growth and discipleship; and partners with the Lead Minister of Groups and Discipleship and other ministries across the church to equip women in spiritual formation and making disciples who make disciples.

There is consideration for this position being full-time or part-time.

 

Some Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Execute a comprehensive women’s discipleship strategy to accomplish the vision of saturating Spartanburg, the Carolinas, and the World with the gospel.
  • Provide oversight and leadership for our women.
  • Work alongside other ministry areas so that we’re aligned.
  • Coordinate events for women that provide opportunities for fellowship, inviting, investing, and next steps.
  • Manage and steward the allotted budget for the ministry area.
  • Create and develop dashboards to track growth.
  • Cultivate a culture of multiplication and create easy onboarding opportunities throughout the year
  • Design and oversee a scalable discipleship structure (Study Groups and Discipleship Groups) for multiple campuses.
  • Regularly evaluate effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed for growth and health.

 

Qualifications

  • A clear calling and passion for women’s discipleship and Titus 2 ministry.
  • This person must be a team player and relational with a passion for and knowledge of discipleship and spiritual formation.
  • An undergraduate degree is required; a graduate degree from an accredited, theologically sound seminar is preferred.
  • They must have proven experience leading women’s ministries, multiplying groups/leaders, and fostering biblical community.
  • A strong communicator with relational intelligence, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to lead across generations.
  • Comfortable managing multiple teams and projects.
  • Emotionally mature, as the role involves interacting with multiple generations.
  • Organized, adaptable, flexible, and able to lead through change.
  • Committed to following and abiding by our church’s doctrinal and theological beliefs found within the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

 

Personal Requirements

  • Maintain a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Be committed to personal devotion through scripture and prayer.
  • Faithfully support the ministry of First Baptist Church by tithing and displaying biblical stewardship of personal resources.
  • Have a heart for shepherding and spiritually guiding women.
  • Be an active member of FBS and an active member of an FBS group, connecting with the body of Christ regularly.
  • Be faithfully committed to the vision, mission, and values of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg.
