Position Title: Bi-Vocational Pastor
Church: Pacolet First Baptist Church, Pacolet, South Carolina
Salary: $51,500 annually (bi-vocational)
Position Summary
Pacolet First Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated, Christ-centered Bi-Vocational Pastor to provide spiritual leadership, shepherd the congregation, and equip members for ministry while maintaining outside employment. The pastor will work collaboratively with church leadership to fulfill the mission of the church through preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and community engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
Preaching & Teaching
- Prepare and deliver biblically sound, Spirit-led sermons for weekly worship services
- Lead or oversee Bible studies, discipleship programs, and teaching ministries
- Ensure doctrinal integrity consistent with Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Pastoral Care
- Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to church members
- Visit the sick, homebound, and those in need
- Officiate weddings, funerals, and other special services
Leadership & Administration
- Work with deacons, committees, and ministry leaders to support church operations
- Lead in vision casting, goal setting, and ministry planning
- Provide leadership in decision-making
Outreach & Community Engagement
- Encourage evangelism and outreach within the local community
- Represent the church in community events and partnerships
- Support missions efforts locally and globally
Worship & Church Life
- Oversee and participate in worship service planning
- Collaborate with music leaders and volunteers
- Promote unity, fellowship, and spiritual growth within the congregation
Qualifications
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a call to pastoral ministry
- Agreement with Baptist doctrine and the mission of First Baptist Church
- Licensed and Ordained with some level of seminary training preferred
- Previous pastoral or ministry experience
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to balance ministry responsibilities with outside employment
Work Expectations
- This is a bi-vocational position requiring flexible scheduling
- Expected to prioritize Sunday Morning services, Wednesday Night Service, key church events, and pastoral care needs
- Maintain regular communication with church leadership and members
Compensation
- Annual salary of $51,500.00
- Additional benefits may be negotiated based on church resources
