Coopers Gap Baptist Church, an established 191 year old conservative Southern Baptist Church, is actively and prayerfully seeking an experienced God fearing Pastor who will provide spiritual and administrative leadership in all aspects of church life. The pastor must be dedicated to the sound biblical proclamation of the Word of God and to making disciples in the church, local community, and around the world.
He will provide a balanced ministry of preaching, teaching, evangelism, service, and pastoral care. He will be responsible for the spiritual, visionary, and organizational leadership to the ministerial staff, committees of the church, and congregation at large. A strong work ethic and readiness to lead by example is essential. The pastor must meet the qualifications set out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 and hold beliefs solidly aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Coopers Gap has many active ministries including Youth, Golden Age, Gap Kids, Brotherhood, Baptist Women, Deacons, Choir, and Sunday School. We have active committees that take pride in serving the local community! We average 110 in attendance on Sunday morning. We have three services weekly; Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening.
A pastor's salary package includes a base salary, a church parsonage, church vehicle, Health/life insurance, retirement plan, vacation and sick leave, and professional development.
