Children’s Minister

This position is a ministerial staff position and serves under the direction of the Senior Pastor. The children’s ministry encompasses children from birth to 5^th grade.

Primary Job Responsibility

This position will serve to advance the mission of Berea FBC among children and parents. The mission of BFBC is to make disciples by helping people connect with Christ through worship, Bible study, ministry and missions, and fellowship. The accomplishment of this mission among children will involve the utilization of a strategic vision and a clearly defined process that will promote children coming to know Christ in saving faith and growing as Christ followers.

Specific Ministry Responsibilities:

• Children’s Ministry encompasses ministry to children from birth to 5^th
• Develop and deliver an annual strategic ministry plan with clear goals and targets.
• Coordinate parent/volunteer meetings accordingly to maintain communication.
• Utilize appropriate means of social media to promote the ministries being offered to children.
• Coordinate, plan, and lead children ministry activities and fellowship events.
• Serve as coordinator of Good News Club for Armstrong Elementary School.
• Serve as staff liaison to BFBC’s Child Development Center. This will include working with and offering insight to the CDC Director, helping identify or developing curriculum that aligns with the mission of BFBC, and leading the CDC Committee.
• Prepare and submit annual budget requests. Oversee Children’s ministry budget and submit receipts for expenditures.
• Coordinate and promote Wednesday night discipleship program for preschoolers and children.
• Recruit and develop all children’s ministry volunteers.
• Recruit and develop children’s Sunday Morning Connect Group volunteers.
• Coordinate weekly nursery schedule and volunteers. Coordinate nursery volunteers for other church ministry events.
• Ensure proper safety protocols are followed. Provide proper screening and training of all children’s ministry volunteers. Maintain data base of volunteers who have completed Ministry Safe training.
• Serve as VBS director and/or coordinator.
• Coordinate KidzWorship service for Sunday Mornings.
• Coordinate Bible lessons and recruit teachers for Junior Week of Church Camp at Cheraw. Create morning devotions. Plan morning and evening worship services.
• Coordinate PreSchool and Children’s Choirs.
• Coordinate with church staff for church wide ministry events focused on children and families.
• Minister to children and their families through calls, activity visits, texts, and emails.
• Coordinate/Direct music for K3/K4 CDC Kindergarten ChildrenChristmas and Spring Program
• Other duties as needed or assigned by the Pastor
