Leadership Position Description and Qualifications
Position Title: Worship Leader (Bi-Vocational)
Reports To: Personnel Committee

Principle Function
- The Worship Leader will be responsible for leading the congregation, choir and other groups in musical worship.
Specific List of Responsibilities for Worship Leader
Anticipated Time Commitment:
- Preparing for Ministry: ten hours a week minimum
- Practice: one hour a week minimum
Responsibilities:
- Have open and constant communication with the Pastor.
- Lead in worship for Sunday morning, Sundy evenings and Wednesday Prayer Meeting Services.
- Collaborate and communicate with the Media Team.
- Collaborate and communicate with Pianist and Organist.
- Arrive to Sandhill Baptist in a timely manner, by 9:00am for Sunday morning worship.
- Oversee and direct the Church’s adult music ministry, including rehearsals.
- Pray for, uplift and minister to those who are involved in the worship ministry.
- Include and invite open dialogue with choir members.
- Prepare and anticipate upcoming events in a timely manner.
- Lead the Church’s worship services including congregational and special music.
- Arrange, select and direct special singing.
- Ensure music for morning worship, regardless of number of participants is available.
- Oversee and recruit assistant directors to lead the youth and children’s music groups.
- Collaborate with the Children Ministry Team, create meaningful worship experiences for kindergarten through fifth grade, including Christmas Program, etc.
- Collaborate with the Pastor of Children and Youth, create meaningful worship experiences for sixth through twelfth grade, including Youth Sunday, etc.
- Prepare music and communicate in a timely manner for musicians, media team and church bulletin.
- No education is required, but it is necessary to be able to read music and know each part (alto, soprano, tenor, bass, etc.)
Basic Personal Responsibilities:
- Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer and meditation.
- Maintain proper priorities in your home and be a spiritual leader to your spouse and children, if married.
- Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
- Financially support the working ministries of Sand Hill Baptist Church by faithfully practicing God-led stewardship.
Qualifications: The Worship Leader will be/have:
- A Christian committed to Christ and the church as the body of Christ and will respect and appreciate the Baptist expression of faith.
- A lifestyle that reflects and authentic commitment to Christ and one that can be modeled for those in the congregation.
- A spirit-led desire to work and learn, along with the ability to work and serve well with others, while being open to creativity and diversity in Christian life, witness, ministry, and understanding of faith, but not wavering from the principles of the Bible.
- Ability to manage time, complete projects, and initiate new ideas and tasks.
- Willing to submit to a background check.
- Job performance and evaluation by the Personnel Committee when deemed necessary.
- If hired full-time, become a member of Sandhill Baptist Church.
