Youth Pastor

First Baptist Church of Irmo, located in the Columbia, SC suburb of Irmo, has an immediate
need for a Youth Paster to serve in growing and dynamic church.
The successful candidate for Youth Pastor must first love the Lord and yearn for others to know
him. The successful candidate is also required to have a passion and a heart for students and
possess the ability to engage and build relationships. The successful candidate will teach the
Bible as the inerrant Word of God as this vital to the students’ growth in their faith journey.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of Youth Ministry including all trips, events, camps, and biblical
instruction.
2. Provide biblical teaching on all Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday
evenings in a fun and engaging environment
3. Develop relationships with students through discipleship opportunities
4. Engage with parents and develop a relationship with them
5. Be present at church outreach events and functions
6. Oversee all meetings with parents and volunteers
7. Lead youth council meetings (monthly) and attend staff/church council meetings
(weekly)
8. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred from an accredited University
2. Ability to develop relationships with students and parents
3. Ability to teach from the Bible and connect with real-life applications
4. Ability to be coachable and teachable
5. Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
6. Develop your relationship with Jesus Christ daily
7. Must adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
Supervisor:
Associate Pastor
Ministry experience is preferred but not required.
Part-time with the potential for full time employment. This job will require a minimum of 20
hours per week and the ideal candidate must have a flexible schedule.
