The role of Pastor of Worship and Pastoral Care is vital to the vision and mission of our church. Obedient Worship and Generational Unity are two of our core values. The Pastor of Worship and Pastoral Care will help our church continue to accomplish our mission and stay true to our core values by ensuring that our corporate worship gatherings are in accordance with Scripture and that all generations of our church family are cared for during their times of need.
The Pastor of Worship and Pastoral Care will use 60-70% of his time to work with the Senior Pastor and other designated persons to prepare and lead music for all of our corporate gatherings. This person will embrace a blended worship style that demonstrates a proficiency in leading a choir, praise team, and band who lead our church family in singing great hymns from the past and theologically rich songs from the present. This person will also oversee all the other worship & media related ministries of the church in consultation with the Senior Pastor.
He will spend 20-30% of his time overseeing and coordinating our care ministries such as hospital and homebound visitation, visitation for bereaved families, and additional care ministries as the need arises.
The candidate should possess strong foundational knowledge of the Bible and a willingness to teach God’s Word. This person should affirm a clear call to serve in the local church, be committed to working as a part of the team, and possess a pastor’s heart of genuine concern and compassion for people.
